A strong advocate for children, education, and community equality, Sparkl A. West-Pruitt assists and mentors children and young adults and inspires them to obtain a higher level of education to reach their full potential.

Prior to her appointment to the Board of Education, West-Pruitt served as an HSD Ambassador and Key Communicator for Hazelwood School District. She has also held several leadership roles with the Hazelwood PTA Council, including the president. West-Pruitt has been involved with HSD since 2012. She has been a PTA member since 1990.

A business and entertainment manager by trade, West-Pruitt’s career achievements include managing major events, such as Budweiser Superfest, and national music tours with The O' Jays, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and many other artists. West-Pruitt is also the founder of the Infinity West, Inc. booking and management agency.   

West-Pruitt is also a minister in the Christian faith. In addition to that, she is a motivational speaker in the areas of goal setting, business marketing, parenting, and diversity. West-Pruitt has started several networking groups for women, including the Christian Women's Empowerment Network (CWEN) and the African American Women's Empowerment Network (AAWEN). She is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.

West-Pruitt is a graduate of Georgia Technical Institute. She is a proud mother of two and the wife of Abram Pruitt, a captain of a local fire department.
