The Hazelwood School District is Fully Accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The Hazelwood School District is a diverse school district in suburban St. Louis, Missouri and is the second largest district in St. Louis County. The District extends from I-70 on the west and the I-270 bridge on the east, covering 78 square miles, an area larger than the City of St. Louis. Its northern and southern boundaries are the two Great Rivers, the Missouri, and the Mississippi, and I-270. The district includes the communities of Hazelwood, Black Jack, and Spanish Lake; a large section of the city of Florissant; portions of the cities of Bridgeton, Bellefontaine Neighbors, and Ferguson; and several square miles of unincorporated St. Louis County.

Faculty and staff educate more than 17,000 students in the District’s 20 elementary schools, six middle schools, and three high schools, plus separate campuses for early childhood, gifted, and individualized learning. Students, faculty, and schools consistently receive recognition at the state and national levels for academic and professional achievements.

• Hazelwood School District Class of 2017 received over $30 Million in Scholarships, over $12 Million more than the previous year.
• More than 40 Hazelwood School District elementary and middle school science and math teachers completed advanced certification programs through Washington University in St. Louis. The Boeing Middle School Science Institute and the MasterCard Middle School Math Institute provided opportunities for teachers to earn 15 hours of graduate certification. The programs are designed for teachers in grades 4-8. They combine graduate level coursework with professional development. Classes are held within the District. HSD has partnered with the university since 2006.
• All three Hazelwood high schools received national certification for their Project Lead the Way® programs. Overall, more than 2,200 students enrolled in PLTW courses, including the middle school program, Gateway to Technology.
