Diane Livingston resides in Black Jack with her husband of 44 years. They have two children that attended Hazelwood Schools, K-12. Both her son and daughter are graduates of Missouri universities and still live within the Hazelwood School District.
Mrs. Livingston is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Mathematics Major. She received her master’s degree in Education from Lindenwood University.
Livingston retired from the Hazelwood School District in May of 2017 after a 17-year career as a high school math teacher and HNEA teacher union president. She was also a substitute teacher in the District in 1974-75 and again in 2000.
Livingston has participated on many District steering committees such as Hazelwood 1st, High School Reform, Assessment Literacy, Cultural Competence, Hazelwood Next, Budget, Teacher Evaluation, Student Behavior Guide, and Professional Development. She has received the HCHS Math Department Teacher of the Year and Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards in 2003-2004 and a Hazelwood Leadership Award for Hazelwood 1st that year. In 2016, she received the Missouri NEA Shirley Cromer Leadership Award.
She has presented leadership programs at state and national conferences for NEA and worked with DESE as a member of MACCE (Missouri Advisory Council of Certification for Educators). She presently sits on the Board of Directors for Heritage House and has been on the executive board of MNEA and North County Labor.
Livingston has been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, room mother, PTA, and Project Graduation volunteer. She also volunteered at Marygrove as a PALS member and along with her husband was a small business owner in North County from 1987 until 2000. Presently, she owns and operates a store in historic downtown St. Charles. She is an active member of the Florissant Valley Kiwanis Club.
