Peachjar Q&A
-
Q: What is Peachjar?
A: In the past, schools have sent home multiple flyers in students' backpacks on Fridays. In an effort to be more fiscally responsible, environmentally friendly, and to embrace innovative technology, we moved from paper to digital flyer delivery. With our Peachjar eflyer program, the eflyers are sent directly to parents' email inboxes as well as posted on school websites for easy access. Flyers maybe accessed by clicking on the Peachjar logo on each schools site. On rare occasions, we may send home a flyer.
Q: Why did the school district implement Peachjar?
A: In keeping with our #3 goal, enhancing parent and community engagement, we use all communication touch points available to reach as many parents and patrons as possible.
Q: How does Peachjar Work?
A: School-approved digital flyers will be sent directly to parents and guardians who see them as visually engaging images right on their smartphone or computer screen. Additionally, all flyers will be posted to each school’s website. Peachjar also manages flyer distribution and works directly with outside organizations.
Q: How do I sign-up to receive Peachajr Flyers?
A: As a convenience to parents and guardians, e-mails that the district has on file will be used to set up the Peachjar account. If parents and guardians do not have an e-mail address on file, please call our central office to speak with Alecia White at 314-953-5045. To sign up for Peachjar without calling the Central Office, parents and guardians can also visit www.peachjar.com and click on the ‘sign up’ button to register.
Parents and guardians will receive a welcome email from Peachjar that includes a username and password. This is provided to give the opportunity to manage account and flyer delivery preferences. Parents do not need to login to receive or view school eflyers. School memos can still be viewed on the district and school homepage by simply clicking on the Peachjar icon. The login is to manage e-mail delivery preferences.
To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest parents and guardians add school@peachjar.com to their email contacts. When they receive their first eflyer, click “always display images.”
This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
Q: Why does it appear that I only receive advertisements?
A: The school district recently launched Peachjar and the tool is relatively new. For now, we send flyers that the school district, PTA Council, and community partners wish to share with parents and patrons. We are still in the process of training school staff with the goal of making this paperless communication tool become a part of our fabric.
Q: Is there a cost for the Hazelwood School District to use Peachjar?
A: There is no cost to the Hazelwood School District or any of our 32 schools. We are able to take advantage of the service through our Blackboard contract. By using Peachjar, it is projected that our District and schools will save paper and reduce printing costs. In addition, paperless delivery of school flyers removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.
