I played football on scholarship (Wide Receiver) 2 years at Miami Ohio and was coached by Sean Payton the head football coach for the Denver Broncos and transferred and graduated from Southern Illinois at Carbondale. I have my B.A in history and minor in African American studies. I have been teaching at Hazelwood East going into my 18th year and have been working for the school district for 21 years. I coached football, basketball and was the head girls track coach for 9 years. As an assistant coach in basketball we finished 2^nd (2006-2007) and 4^th (2005-2006) place at the class 4 state championship. In football as an assistant coach we won the State championship in 2008. As the head girls track coach from 2009 – 2018 we accomplished 2 4^th place team finish at the state track championship (2010 &2011), 3 consecutive conference championships (2009 – 2011), back to back district team championship (2010 &2011). I was honored to have coached a Gatorade Athlete of the Year (Tianna Valentine 2011). I was the head football coach at Clayton high school 2017-2022. Currently coaching Wr's at MICDS and sprint coach (Track & Field) Clayton High school. I have been married to my lovely wife Sequita Barnes for 16 years and we have a handsome son, Linwood R Barnes jr aka RJ. I love to travel, play just about any sport except hockey, roller skating, fishing, spending time with my family and learning new things.
