Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kayla Cebulski

Hello! My name is Mrs. Cebulski. This will be my first year teaching at Hazelwood East High School, and I am thrilled to work with my staff and students.

I grew up around Atlanta and received my BA from Emory University. Currently, I am working toward my MEd at UMSL. I have lived in St. Louis for 10 years and really enjoy the city (especially the parks)! In my personal time I enjoy reading, playing games, watching films, and watching some shows (especially baking/cooking shows). I heavily enjoy baking (especially making themed treats for different holidays) and love to share ideas and recipes.

I have had many experiences in education and have been working toward this goal for a long period of time. I previously came from healthcare where I worked on the floor with patients of all ages, in addition to educating and training new staff and teaching department safety courses to all staff. While I did enjoy my time there, teaching has always been my first and foremost passion, and I am excited to finally have a career in education exclusively.

In both my English and Reading & Writing Workshop classes, we will have a very student-centered and driven focus. We will work collaboratively with ample time for discussion to allow students to share their voices and grow as strong readers and writers.
