Mr. Andrew Roberts

I grew up in University City & graduated from U. City High School in 2005. I started college studying philosophy at Truman State, but transferred to Webster University and got my degree in psychology in 2009. I went back to Webster for graduate school and earned my Master's degree in teaching in 2014.

I was a substitute teacher for three years and a learning support teacher for six before coming here. Teaching learning support, I worked with students of all ability levels to help them become active, engaged, lifelong learners. I have a deep passion for learning and a belief that all students are capable of true critical thinking. Every class I teach will ask students to expand their horizons, question what they know, and create knowledge. I started teaching at Hazelwood East High School in the Spring of 2023 and am thrilled to be teaching psychology and sociology here; they're my favorite subjects by far, and I get to teach in a great place!

I'm a fan of Newcastle United in the English soccer league, I can recite most episodes of the TV show Aqua Teen Hunger Force line-by-line, and I love space, science & science fiction. I have one younger brother, Eliott, who's my best friend. I like the Beach Boys, the Decemberists, and Tullycraft, but I also go to the Pink Floyd Christmas show every year at the Pageant in U. City. This summer, I got to visit some college friends who moved to Minneapolis.
