Biography:

I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1986. After experiencing such mild winters in St. Louis, I decided to plant my feet here and say goodbye to the frigid winters in Chicago forever. Prior to me relocating to St. Louis, my undergraduate studies was in Occupational Therapy at Chicago, State University. Although being an Occupational Therapist was my lifelong dream, I admired my family members who helped mold the minds of so many students. I found my true passion in education after relocating to St. Louis and tutoring students after school. I have been a proud educator for more than 25 years and a member of the Southeast family since the 2023-2024 school year.
I commit myself wholeheartedly to the school community and believe every child can and will succeed. Compassion and critical thinking are two values that I instill in my students every day.

I hold a Masters' Degrees from Lindenwood University in Administration, a Masters' Degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago, a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education, and Special Reading Certification K-12. I'm a former adjunct professor at Lindenwood University for 8 years teaching Communication Arts Graduate studies.

I'm a business owner servicing Veterans and adults with disabilities for 13 years. Over the years, I've served in various capacities as Communication Arts Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Coach, Reading Specialist and a teacher at St. Louis University teaching life skills to adults with disabilities. I've served on various school improvement teams to include being a professional development trainer, a curriculum writer, and a new teacher mentor. On several occasions, I was awarded "Apple Teacher of the Year" by the local school board for my innovative classroom practices and dedication to my students.
