Teacher Message:

My name is McKenzie Carter and I am so excited to be teaching physical education this year at Southeast Middle School. This will be my fifth year teaching P.E. for grades ranging from pre-k to eighth grade. My goal is to equip students with the knowledge and tools to live a healthy and active lifestyle. I believe physical education teaches valuable skills that are not only practiced in an athletic/school environment, but also in scenarios outside the school building– such as collaborating with peers, conflict resolution, and perseverance. My goal is to show students how exciting it can be to set goals and accomplish them.

Biography:

My husband and I recently moved here from Texas and have grown to love the St. Louis area. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a B.A. in Kinesiology as well as a M.S. in Kinesiology. In my free time I enjoy doing anything sports related. Recently, I have started playing pickleball and have grown to love it! I also love hiking, disc golf, and basketball. I am so excited to see what the students will accomplish this school year!
