Teacher Message:

I am ecstatic to serve Southeast Middle School as one of the building's art teachers! A teacher is a role model that meets their students with patience, understanding, and respect. I aim to make learning art methods and history clear and engaging by providing multiple projects for student’s to find their own success and express themselves in a professional way to share with the world. Students will build their body of work, learn the importance of art professionalism, and showcase their projects in various settings.

Biography:

Education:

I competed in cross country and track at the Division II level during my time at McKendree University. I graduated from there in Spring of 2018 with my BFA in Art and a minor in Marketing. In the fall of 2018, I spent a semester running Division I while studying Art Education. That next spring, I began my time with Lebanon CUSD9 and served as an in-house substitute PreK-5th. I also coached high school and junior high cross country and track and was the assistant high school girls basketball coach. In Spring of 2023, I completed my Masters Degree and received my teaching certification. I gratefully come to Southeast, formerly, as a second year teacher after a year of teaching 4th grade mathematics and RTI at Carlyle Grade School in Carlyle, IL.

Interests:

In my free time, I love writing, recording, and performing music. I am a frequent disc golfer and will play anytime I get. I enjoy Nintendo, specifically Smash Bros, Zelda, and Pokémon.

Family:

I became engaged this July to my fiancé, Anna. We are set to be married at the completion of this school year! I am the middle sibling with 4 sisters and we have wonderful and involved parents. I have three nieces with two nephews on the way later this year. I also have a 1 year old cat named Mumbo.
