Mrs. Stacy Hershenow
This is my 8th year as the FACS (Family and Consumer Sciences) teacher at Hazelwood North Middle School. My teaching career began in the Kansas City area in 1991 and continued in California. After our 2nd of 4 children was born, I took a parental leave from teaching, which extended to almost 20 years. We moved to St. Louis in 2004 with our 4 young children. When our youngest entered high school, I was excited to get back into teaching in the Hazelwood School District!
I teach 7th and 8th Grade Foods & Nutrition, 8th Grade Sewing & Textiles and 6th Grade FACS. As an elective teacher, I have a different set of classes on alternating A and B days. My goal is to engage students in learning and mastering relevant life skills. On that point, I encourage and welcome parental input! The best time to reach me is during my plan time, 9:31-10:26 on A-days and 1:05-2:00 on B-days. I'm also happy to visit on most weeknight evenings or we can always communicate through email.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Stan, and our family...including 2 dogs and a cat. We love to travel to new places and visit our extended families out of state. At home, I enjoy cooking, doing projects and spending time outdoors in the yard or walking nearby trails. As Empty Nesters, we also stay busy road tripping on the weekends to visit our children and young grandson!
