    Educational Philosophy:

I believe that all students are able to attain their personal greatness.  As a teacher, it is my duty to assist students by ushering them into being the best possible person that can be academically, emotionally, and socially.  The only way it is possible to be successful at this task is to establish strong relationships.  Establishing these relationships with students helps me to learn who they are, what they value, what their beliefs are, what interests them, and their ability levels.  With this valuable information, I am able to plan and develop instruction, assessments, and activities that are tailored for their individual unique needs.  Instruction developed for students of the 21st century should include technology, cooperative learning opportunities, choice and differentiation with continuous formative assessments used to guide future lessons.  As a reflective teacher, I understand that my success is gaged by the success of my students.

    Personal Statement:

This is my seventh year teaching second grade for the Hazelwood School District.  My husband and I have four wonderful children ranging in ages four through thirteen.  All of whom attend schools in the Hazelwood School District.  I enjoy cooking, planning parties and events, spending time with my family, and relaxing over summer vacation. I am a current member of Jamestown’s PBIS committee.
