Riebeil Petty is an English Language Arts (ELA) educator with 11 years of teaching experience at various levels. He has worked as an adjunct faculty instructor at Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU), teaching Freshman Seminar, Seminar in Higher Learning, and Basic Writing. While completing his Missouri teaching certificate in grades 5-9 in Language Arts, Petty taught at St. Louis Public Schools for over six years, working for Langston Middle School and Carr Lane Visual & Performing Arts Middle School.

Entering his 10th year teaching ELA 8 and fourth year at East Middle, Petty is an Omicron Delta Kappa International Honor Society member. He is fiercely passionate about supplying his students with strategies and techniques to enhance their reading comprehension, and writing skills, and develop them into independent, critical thinkers.  Petty has coached middle school girls’ basketball and is an assistant coach on East High’s JV Boys Basketball Team.
