Each Early Childhood location has a registered nurse on site to help you with any health related questions regarding your child. It is our goal to keep your child safe and healthy while they are at school. If you have ANY questions regarding sending your child to school during an illness PLEASE feel free to call the nurse at your site. Our numbers are listed on the right of this page.
Below are a few reminders of Hazelwood School District Policies and recommendations regarding sick children and school. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping to reduce the problems of illness at school.
Children are sent home from school if they have:
-
Fever of 100.0 degrees or higher
-
Vomiting
-
Diarrhea
-
Suspected Pink Eye
-
Rash of undetermined origin
-
Evidence of head lice or ringworm
-
If the nurse deems it necessary
Please make sure that someone is available to pick up your child in the event of an illness.
Any medication that must be taken during the school hours can be brought to the nurse by a parent or guardian. Prescription medication needs to be in the original prescription bottle. Over the counter medication needs to be in a new unopened bottle. The nurse will have forms to be signed by the parent or guardian for medication at school.
