Hi My name is  Emily Hockaday and I have been working with children in some capacity for over 20 years.I recieved my Bachelor’s Degree and my Early Childhood Certification from Harris-Stowe State University. I received my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. This is my second year teaching at Grannemann Elementary. Before I came to Grannemann I was with St. Louis Public Schools for nine years and seven of those years was as a kindergarten teacher. I am a project-based teacher and often let my students guide my instruction. I, along with my former students, wrote and published a book through a writing project titled LeBron James Black History in Children's Words, which was endorsed by Mr. LeBron James himself. My hope is that my students will leave my classroom feeling confident in themselves and their abilities. I would like to remembered by my students that I challenged them to think outside the box and to know that learning can be fun, especially if Ms. Hockaday was your teacher. 😀
