Dr. Lisa Strauther

Greetings! My name is Dr. Lisa N. Strauther and I am a proud graduate of the Hazelwood School District.  I have over 25 years of experience in education with the majority of those years being an elementary administrator.  Prior to being a school principal, I taught elementary school for University City School District and Hazelwood School District. I then became an administrator in 2000 with Hazelwood School District and have been a learning leader ever since.

I am the proud mother of two wonderful daughters.  Leah is in high school and Lydia, a former Russell student, is in middle school.  The three of us love to travel, especially visiting different countries and vacationing on the beach!  Being a mother and a principal have been the best accomplishments of my life!

I joined the Russell family as the principal in July 2018.   As a learning leader, I am constantly researching additional strategies and seeking supportive measures to help maximize the learning potential and growth of each student.  All children can and will learn when supported by those who believe children matter most!  Our community has the best parents and families who want their children to reach their maximum potential.  Our faculty and staff work diligently to ensure that students are better prepared for our ever-changing society while helping to build and mold the whole child.  As Nelson Mandela eloquently stated, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you use to change the world."  Together, with the support of teachers and families, and great effort from all students, Russell Cougars will succeed!

Believing in all children,

Dr. Lisa N. Strauther
