Meet Our Instructional Coach

Hello!! My name is Leah Chavez. I am excited to continue in my role as Russell Elementary's Instructional Coach.

As far as my educational background goes, I am a Hazelwood School District Alumni graduating from Hazelwood West High School. I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Lindenwood University. I currently hold lifetime certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Gifted and Talented, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Reading, and Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Disabilities.

Prior to earning the role of Instructional Coach, I spent 10 years teaching within the Hazelwood School District. As Russell's IC, my main role is to support our amazing teachers to ensure they are providing the best education for our Cougars!

In my personal time, I enjoy reading and am on a quest to read 52 books this year! I also enjoy spending time traveling and making memories with my family.

I look forward working with Russell staff and students this year and can't wait to see the growth we make as a team!
