Hello! My name is Mrs. Pursley, and I will be your child’s School Counselor at Russell Elementary School. I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you. As a counselor my role is to assist students in learning the skills necessary to be successful. I will do this through the implementation of the comprehensive school counseling program. This program covers three major areas: personal and social development, academic development, and career development. I will help students in planning, monitoring, and managing their success in these areas. I will address the needs and concerns of students through small group and individual counseling sessions. I also look forward to assisting the staff in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
