Melissa Fitzgerald, or Ms. Fitz as she’s known to students, holds a BS in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Southern Nazarene University. She has a MA in Professional and School Counseling from Lindenwood University. As a Home School Communicator, she identifies resources, assists students in their social emotional well being, and provides opportunities for parent engagement. Ms. Fitz is a graduate of Hazelwood and continues to live in the community. She runs a local non-profit called Empower North County and loves the opportunity to support and advocate for Hazelwood students as well as all students in North County. Ms. Fitz is starting her fourth year at Jury Elementary. She and her husband have three children in the district. She has two dogs, a bunny, and a leopard gecko so there’s never a dull moment.
