My name is Cassandra Payton and I enjoy teaching 4th grade! I started teaching in 2010 and I have been teaching at Jury since 2016. 

I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.   I currently hold four certifications: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle School Math (5-9), and Special Reading. I am currently working towards the Elementary Math Specialist Certification.

During the 2019-2020 school year, I earned the Teacher of the Year award.  I have held multiple leadership positions, including the role of PBIS Chairperson.  I have also led staff professional development, ranging across multiple topics from classroom management to guided reading. 

Being a life-long learner, I am very passionate about education. My goal is to instill the importance of education while developing independent, enthusiastic thinkers in every student I encounter. Teaching is not just a job, it is truly my calling. 

This year, we will explore a “Sea of Possibilities” while learning, growing, and succeeding together.
