Ms. Simmons (Math and Writing)

Biography: Ms. Simmons is a fifth-grade teacher at Cold Water Elementary. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Saint Louis University and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Lindenwood University. Currently, Ms. Simmons holds a Missouri Elementary Education Certification for grades 1st - 6th and seeks to pursue a certification in Education Technology in Spring 2021. She has been apart of the Hazelwood School District for 9 years and an active participant in various building and district level committees. Ms. Simmons believes that each child has the right to a quality education that will provide endless opportunities to explore their interests while exposing them to strategies that will help them as adults in the world. She understands and recognizes that children require different methods or strategies to solve various situations and it is not realistic or responsible to think they all learn the same way. In her class, children are viewed as contributors in the classroom, where they share and gain knowledge from each other. Ms. Simmons is excited to learn new and exciting things with her students this year.
