Missouri Department of Transportation Conference

Posted by Kambi Harris on 8/24/2017

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) offers an annual weeklong, overnight
Youth Transportation Conference for students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the
upcoming school year. This year’s conference was held July 16-21, 2017 in Jefferson City.
MoDOT is pleased to offer this free conference to 30 students around the state who have an
interest in the transportation and civil engineering field. While at the conference, students learn
about engineering and transportation concepts and careers through hands on activities. Students
stayed overnight on the campus of Lincoln University. Some of our visits included spending the
day at St. Louis University, University of Missouri Science and Technology, Lincoln University
and MoDOT labs.
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter informing you that your school had a student
participate in this year’s conference –Jacobi May.
I had the privilege of watching these students grow throughout this conference and been
impressed with their eagerness to learn new things. They put the time and effort into projects
and activities they were assigned during the conference. I know that these students will continue
to be a wonderful addition to any school, team or organization they are a part of.
If you have any questions about this conference, or ideas for partnering with MoDOT for
educational purposes throughout the school year, please feel free to contact me at 573-522-5333
