Hazelwood School District Hosts Successful Support Staff Recruitment Fair Alongside the Career Transition Fair
Over the summer, the Hazelwood School District held a highly successful Support Staff Recruitment Fair for the 2024-2025 school year. Nearly 100 participants met with HSD staff to fill bus driving, counseling, secretarial, food nutrition, custodial, and more support staff vacancies. The fair offered interested candidates face-to-face interviews, with as many as 10 departments based on interests and qualifications.
“Hosting a recruitment fair takes a team effort, and I am grateful for the support,” said Dr. Evelyn Woods, Director of Human Resources. “Candidates had the opportunity to get assistance with completing their online applications and receiving information regarding the benefits the district offers.”
In addition to the Support Staff Recruitment Fair, there was also a successful Career Transition Fair. During the Career Transition Fair, Saint Louis University (SLU), Maryville University, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) met with candidates interested in the Rising Teacher and Teacher Preparation programs, and the Teacher in Residency Apprenticeship. All of these programs are sponsored by the Hazelwood School District.
Candidates could learn how to become an educator by exploring earning a provisional teaching certificate, discovering available support and resources from the district and partner universities, and having the opportunity to learn about substitute teaching options with Kelly Educational Services.
