Hazelwood School District Shines In 2024 Spring Sports
The 2024 spring sports season was a remarkable success for the Hazelwood School District, with notable achievements in track and field at both Central and East High Schools.
At Central High, Kevin Coleman set a new school record and finished 2nd in the 300m hurdles with a time of 37.31 seconds at the State Tournament. The boys' 4x200m relay team, consisting of Kelvin Coleman, Zane Croft, Jayden Atkins, and Deonte Anthony, secured 6th place. Additionally, the girls' 4x200m relay team, made up of Jamaria Madison, Ryann Stamps, Camera Foster, and Carrington Reed, achieved 8th place.
Over at East High, the boys' 4x200m relay team, featuring Marcus Burks, Melvin Sledge, Arif Shakoor, and Christopher Heard, finished 4th. In the boys' 4x100m relay, Terrance Little, Marcus Burks, Arif Shakoor, and Kristopher Heard took 6th place. The girls' 4x100m relay team, with Cori Carter, Aniyah Easley, Abreial Fitch, and Jamecia Green, finished 7th.
These accomplishments highlight the dedication and hard work of the student-athletes and coaches in the Hazelwood School District, making the 2024 season one to remember.
