East High Student-Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

East Signing Day w Seniors

The East High Spartans are cheering on two seniors who signed their National Letters of Intent with college programs.

Bryce Evans has committed to Prince George’s Community College for baseball, and Andrew Flowers has committed to Concordia University-Chicago for football.

“My feelings about receiving this scholarship are nothing less than positive,” said Evans. “I feel like it is a great opportunity for me to show my skills in baseball and academics as well. I am ready to get it going!”

Flowers now joins a long list of prestigious East High football alums to play at the next level and feels embraced. “I feel like the college is home,” said Flowers. “The coaches made it feel like home.”

Evans and Flowers’ parents are most proud of their sons and believe that academic support awaits both students upon arrival at the college campuses. “I think this is an opportunity that is great for my son. He did not receive any financial assistance with this scholarship,” said Reginald Evans. “He will attend a community college that sees a need and talent. What is exciting about my son going to Prince George’s Community College is they want him to play right away. This allows him to get some things together academically and possibly transfer to a D-1 university, giving him time to play, grow, and get better at the game.”

“I think this is a real good chance for him to get out there and learn,” said Andrew Flowers Sr. “I think the scholarship has everything to offer, especially education-wise; they have a lot of tutors to help them with their classes. It is a good learning opportunity, and I think it will help him in the future.”
