A Message from the Superintendent
I want to thank you for your patience and perseverance during the 2020-2021 school year. Your efforts were the key to making this a successful school year.
Our learning community navigated an unthinkable landscape to provide quality instruction and crucial resources all while remaining a student-focused district. Throughout the school year, HSD was a shining example of what can be accomplished when all stakeholders work together. From resuming face-to-face instruction to having more than 88% of students participate in state testing, our culture of high expectations and excellence has been apparent.
As we look ahead to the 2021-2022 school year, our district will Renew its commitment to academic achievement, Focus efforts on supporting students, and Refine strategies to meet any challenges we may encounter.
The best is yet to come!
Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart Superintendent

A Message from the Board of Education
Thank you! Your unwavering support has been vital to our efforts to serve our students during one of the most challenging times in the history of our country.
The 2020-2021 school year was filled with storms that shook our community to the core. After the storms, HSD was still standing because of your efforts. Stakeholders from the east, central, and west regions of the district have set a standard of hard work and selflessness that will forever be remembered.
While we know new challenges await, we also know that our learning community is prepared. From the faculty and staff to the parents and students, HSD has the talent, strength, and character to overcome any obstacles. Because of that, we are beyond excited about the future of HSD.
