If you have one of the original HSD cell phone hotspots that was issued at the beginning of the school year or last school year, the service will end Sunday, Nov. 1. To be clear, those hotspots will no longer allow families to connect to virtual school starting Monday, Nov. 2.
The district has secured new and improved hotspots and held Hotspot Swap events all month. More than 500 families have yet to complete a swap. Again, those families will not be able to access virtual learning on Monday through the original hotspots.
With unlimited data, the new hotspots will be able to connect with as many as 15 devices at once and provide faster, stronger connections. Hotspots are only available for families that do not already have internet access.
Families can complete a hotspot swap by going to the Opportunity Center (1865 Dunn Road, St. Louis) during the following days and hours:
Thursday & Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, closed for Election Day.
Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Families that need to make special arrangements to complete a hotspot swap can call 314-953-5151. To successfully swap a hotspot, families are required to do the following:
Bring a district supplied hotspot with the charger.
Fill out an index card with their name, driver’s license number, address, and phone number.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your family, but your cooperation will greatly enhance the virtual learning experience.
