Hazelwood Opportunity Center Student Receives Scholarship from Christian Hospital Foundation
Carlenzia Gilbert, a senior at the Hazelwood Opportunity Center, received a $500 scholarship from the Christian Hospital Foundation on Friday, Jan. 18.
Gilbert received the scholarship at the second-annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Luncheon, hosted by the Foundation.
Scholarships were given to eight local students who plan to pursue a career in health care.
Gilbert plans to attend Southern University and pursue a double major in Health Administration and Hospitality Management.
She was recognized for her leadership within the Hazelwood School District, as she is a member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board and an exceptional building leader at the Opportunity Center.
