Florissant Rotary Club provides clothing for Hazelwood students
A long-time community partner of the Hazelwood School District stepped up to help dozens of students recently.
The Florissant Rotary Club purchased more than $1,500 in underwear and socks to help stock the Just 4 Us clothing store, where district social workers can pick up items and provide for students in need.
The Rotary Club previously provided enough funding to buy tables, hanging racks, and other necessities to help set up the store.
“Community partnerships like these allow us to eliminate some of the barriers that prevent students from succeeding,” HSD Federal Programs Specialist Dr. Audrey Wittenauer said. “Just 4 Us Clothing Store allows our staff to move quickly and access these basic necessities and get our students back to the business of school.”
Students also will benefit from a recent donation of new uniforms and hoodies by the Assistance League of St. Louis, along with a grant through Cardinals Care that helped purchase new uniforms as well.
The Assistance League is an all-volunteer, national nonprofit organization that organizes community-based philanthropic programs, where all funds stay in the St. Louis community.
