District Specialist Donates Gift Cards to Support Students in Transition
Michelle Pendleton, a Hazelwood School District Families in Transition Specialist, recently celebrated her 60th birthday. Instead of gifts, Pendleton asked her friends and family to donate gift cards for displaced youth.
“In this position, I see firsthand the need of our displaced community,” said Pendleton. “These cards will provide meals for unaccompanied youth.”
Pendleton's friends and family donated more than $500 in gifts cards from McDonalds, Burger King, Quik Trip, Subway, Sonic, Walgreens, Walmart, Dollar Tree, and Schnucks.
