Board Approves Five-Year Strategic Plan

On August 14, 2018, the Hazelwood School District Board of Education approved the District’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan, which outlines goals and strategies for the District.

Last spring the Hazelwood School District carried out a stakeholder-driven strategic planning process. The process included four meetings to engage students, parents, local business leaders, elected officials, school district staff, and other community members.

“During the summer of 2017, we outlined goals and initiatives designed to improve student achievement, enhance professional growth, and increase to parent and community engagement,” said Superintendent Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart. “I am thrilled that our Board has approved the plan. We will soon publish and share with staff and the entire community."

The new plan combines the perspectives of the focus group participants with the Hazelwood NOW initiatives and translates them into District priorities: student supports services, staff support services, technology, parent involvement and community partnerships, curriculum and instruction, climate and culture, and district finance.
