Hazelwood Teacher Nominated for Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year

Hazelwood School District’s Teacher of the Year Scott Borcherding was recently selected as one of 10 awardees for the Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year for the St. Louis region. He was chosen by his peers as a teacher of excellence and selected by an elite panel of educators for one of the most prestigious honors in the educational profession. 

He has now qualified to move forward in the Missouri State Teacher of the Year process.

“Congratulations to Mr. Borcherding on this great accomplishment. He has had an amazing year full of much deserved recognition. We are very proud of him and wish him well at the regional and state levels.” Said Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, Hazelwood School District superintendent.

He has also been named, Mathematics Educators of Greater St. Louis (MEGSL) Teacher of the Year and Suburban 12 North Conference Coach of the Year in girl’s tennis.

Borcherding is a math teacher at Hazelwood West High School and has been with the district for 12 years.
