Dear Brown School Families and Community Members,
What an honor and pleasure it is to introduce myself as the principal of Brown Elementary School. My name is Melanie Davison and this is my 21st year in education, in which 19 of them have been in the Hazelwood School District. I started my career here in Hazelwood at Brown Elementary School as a 3rd-grade teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brown, it was and continues to be an amazing school with an outstanding staff. I am so excited to join the Brown Family once again. I look forward to working with Brown’s supportive PTA and staff as we continue the rich traditions in which this school has, as we learn and grow.
In addition to my career here in Hazelwood, I keep an active home life. I love the outdoors and spending time with my family. My husband’s name is Patrick and we have 2 incredible children; Ryan who is 12 and Katie who is 10. We stay active with Scouting and basketball for both our children. I say that I grew up while teaching at Brown because I was there when I met my husband and for the birth of my 2 children. You may see my family from time to time throughout the school year at some of our family events. I am excited to make more memories at Brown and with you.
My promise to you is I will always do my best. I will listen to you and your children and value your thoughts and opinions. I am honored that I have been selected to be the principal of our school, I am excited to work with the students, families, staff, and community members of Brown School. I will work hard to create a culture of high expectations and excellence in our building. Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself when visiting the school.
