Many Ways to Support McNair

It takes the entire community working together in all kinds of ways to find our success.  Contributions come in many forms including our awesome volunteers, but also funding which allows us to go beyond the regular budget for programs/items not covered.  Our PTA is a huge avenue for this and allows more voices to be included in deciding the priorities for our community spending.  So much of our funding efforts flow directly through PTA.  

It should be noted we are very proud the way our students continously also contributing to their broader community through efforts to raise funds and support for various organizations outside of the school walls, like American Heart Association through the "Jump Rope for Heart" event.

Promotional Programs

Amazon Smile- If you're a big Amazon shopper, or even a little one, you can sign up to have a small portion of the money you are already spending their to support our school (or any other quality organization that's registered).  Register/Shop at this Link. 

Box Tops for Education- Box Tops has proven to be a beneficial effort year after year at McNair.  Certain grocery/household products contain a box tops cutout coupon, which are collected and turned in at school.  Each box top is usually worth 10 cents.  It adds up!  We are in the habit of running a contest for students to turn in box tops and then be entered into a drawing to win various prizes.

Scholastic Book Fair- Usually two times per year we hold our scholastic book fair.  Each lasts 3-4 days and students have an opportunities during the school day to both pre-shop (make a list of items they like), then visit the book fair again to purchase after discussing the list with possible family funders.

Classroom Specific Fundraising

Many of our teachers have dreamed up specific projects they wish to have funded. A number of them have been successful using Donors Choose as a platform for to accomplish these goals on behalf of their students. When you donate to our teachers through Donors Choose, the items are purchased through the organization and shipped to the school.  The items stay with the McNair classroom if the teacher moves onto another school. Periodically we may be posting links to these specific projects on our Facebook page. You can also look up McNair on the Donors Choose Site to see if there are any current projects needing funding.

Direct Fundraising

Our PTA researches and selects fundrasing opportunities they believe will the most beneficial to our funding goals, but also the best fit for our families and community. Some of the best fundraisers are those the students get really excited about like the fundraiser that allowed them to earn Garfield or Emoji figures attached to a lanyard.  Who knew?!
