This is my 4th year as the Dean of Students at Hazelwood West Middle School. This is my 18th year in education and I have worked at both high school and middle school levels. I started teaching at the high school level. After 4 years, I transitioned to middle school. I have taught a variety of subjects, including Personal Finance, Economics, Non-Western Cultures, American History, Government, and World History. I also served as the Middle School Athletic/Activities Director for Hazelwood School District for 3 years. Before serving as athletics director, I was a basketball, baseball, volleyball, and track coach at both the middle and high school levels. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every year of my educational career!
As Dean of Students at Hazelwood West Middle School, I continually seek to enhance opportunities to support students and their families both inside and outside of the classroom. I also strive to build and improve relationships between students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community. Working to resolve conflicts through restorative practices, instilling and reiterating a growth mindset, and having a goal in place to strive for excellence enables optimal success for students.
Outside of the educational sphere, I am passionate about family. I am married and we have two boys that are keeping us super busy with sports. Our family also includes two Weimaraners that fit in perfectly. When we are not busy with sports, we love to be outdoors, go fishing, and ride 4-wheelers as a family.
