This is my 16th year in education and 6th year at West Middle. Before becoming a Wildcat and teaching 6th grade ELA, I taught 5th grade for ten years. Even as a 6th grader myself, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Throughout my time as a student, many teachers supported, challenged, and inspired me. My goal is to do the same for my students.

I have an 8-year-old daughter who is entering 4th grade. She is my whole world. I recently bought a house, got engaged, and will be married this year. As you can see, this is a time of new beginnings for myself and my family, and we are very much looking forward to it.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading. My family also enjoys the outdoors, and we go hiking and camping frequently. I am a firm believer in building relationships through communication and mutual respect. I hope to be in contact with all of my students’ families throughout the year and to give students the opportunity to share with me what matters most to them.
