Reading Specialist – Hazelwood Schools East High

As a skilled and enthusiastic educator, with more than 20 years of teaching and leadership experience, I am thrilled to be the Reading Specialist at East High. I love teaching and reading is my passion. Reading not only improves your communication or reading skills, but it is also entertaining and it transforms your understanding from unknown to known. My goal is to bring literacy into the classroom and to help students to read at grade level or above. As an educator, I understand the importance of teaching literacy skills. When students develop their literacy skills, they become more effective speakers, listeners, readers, and writers. It is a skill that enhances their ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and it is a skill that is factored into every content area.
