Ms. Harold
I am Ms. Harold and I am a first-year teacher at Hazelwood East High School. Prior to this, I was a substitute teacher in the Hazelwood School District for about four years while I completed my bachelors and Masters at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education with an English emphasis and a Masters in English. I also earned a Creative Writing Certificate and a Professional Writing Certificate.
Outside of work, I am a high school track and field coach where I coach boys and girls sprints and relays. Besides this, I enjoy spending time with my family and Yorkie, Max.
My goals for my students are for them to become the best version of themselves that they can be both academically and socially. I welcome different perspectives, sensitivity concerning mental health, and the celebration of their cultures. I will challenge my students on a daily basis, but I will also help prepare them the best way I can for the real world. My class will always have work to be done, but it will not always be the traditional type. We will also work on our mental health as well as we read about worldly topics and different texts. I encourage students to express themselves, use their creativity, and build a sense of individuality.
Fun facts:
I have a twin sister.
I still hold three track and field records at McCluer High School. (100m, 200m, & long jump)
