• Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI)

    As the winter weather is approaching, please keep in mind we may use an Alternate Method of Instruction (AMI) day instead of a snow day.  During an AMI day, students will be assigned work via GoogleClassroom. There will be designated times throughout the day that the students will meet with their teachers via GoogleMeet and they can support them with their work. See schedule below.  This document Walker Elementary AMI/Inclement Weather Day Teacher Contact Information (2023-2024)  contains information on how to access the virtual meetings.  All work needs to be completed and turned in when students return for the day to count toward the student’s attendance.  If the work is not turned in, the student will be counted absent for that day.    The benefit of the AMI day is it will allow us to count that day as a day of school and not have to extend the school year. 

    AMI Day Schedule:

    Classroom times 9:30-10:30 AM & 1:30-2:30 PM.  

    Special Areas k-2nd 10:30-11:30 AM & 3rd-5th 2:30-3:30 PM.  Students will attend whatever special area they normally would have attended that day.
