I am super excited to be the counselor at Lawson Elementary School and to get to know all of my students. I have a master's from Missouri Baptist University, and this will be my fifth year as a school counselor. I have always known that I wanted to become a counselor, as I had the desire to help others at a young age. In college, I found my passion for school counseling. It brings me joy to know that my students feel supported. I am always inspired to make an impact.
My mission is to help all students in academic, career, and social/emotional development domains to help them reach their fullest potential.
The services I will provide are as listed:
1. Brief individual counseling
2. Guidance Lessons
3. Group Counseling
4. Collaboration and consultation
5. Resources
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or how I might be able to better support your child.
My name is Shelby Bartoszkiewicz. I am the Behavior Interventionist here at Lawson. I am a certified teacher in the Practice Again With Support (PAWS) room along with building aide Mr. Willmann. The PAWS room is for students in grades preK-5 that struggle with ongoing classroom behaviors or are receiving referrals for the same offense repeatedly. It also is used as a calm down area or break room for some of our students. While in the PAWS room, we work on recognizing our emotions and strategies to help us manage these emotions. Conversations also occur to teach students to replace the behaviors that are keeping them from reaching their full potential.
