Meet The Teachers
This will be my 10th year teaching Pre-K at Twillman. I enjoy the curiosity of this age group and the endless surprises that each day brings. Outside of school, I love to spend time with my wife and our three children. I also enjoy reading, bike riding, and listening to music.
I am Mrs. Dial. I have been teaching at Twillman for 18 years. I have taught special education, kindergarten, second and third grades. I am married and have two daughters and one dog. I love to read, shop and spend timewith friends and family.
My name is Mrs. Heinemann. I am a Kindergarten teacher at Twillman Elementary. I absolutely love teaching. I have 5 kiddos of my own at home.Ms. McAfoosMy name is Ms. McAfoos. This is my second year teaching kindergarten at Twillman Elementary! In my off time I am working at my dance studio teaching children dance and gymnastics. I have 3 children of my own, a dog and a cat. I absolutely love teaching children and look forward to another great year!
My name is Mrs. Lukis, this will be my seventh year teaching first grade a Twillman Elementary. I love first grade because of all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have!
I graduated from Hazelwood West High School. I went to college for my bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Lindenwood University. I am currently working on my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governor’s University.
I like to spend my time with my three boys, fishing, watching them play sports, reading, and traveling.
My name is Lyndsay Lovelace. This is my 3rd year of teaching but my first year at Twillman Elementary. I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2016. I am a proud cat mom of two fur children Remus and Rory. Outside of school I am a professional dancer for the St. Louis Ambush and weight lift! I am excited to see what this year has in store for both me and my students.
My name is Mrs. Caldwell this will be my ninth year teaching. I have my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education. I have taught all over the country with many years experience in second and third grade. I love bringing education to children of all ages! I am excited to see the fun we can have in first grade this year!
In my free time I enjoy reading and hanging out with family and friends
My goal is to influence my students' lives by challenging them to be the best version of themselves. I want them to understand that it is okay to fail. Failing is just simply apart of learning. Furthermore, I want my students to know that they are intelligent and capable of achieving great things. Lastly, I am committed being my best for my students because they deserve that.
Hi my name is Mrs. Lanning. I have been teaching for 16 years, however this is my first year at Twillman. I have taught first, second, and third grades. I am married and have one daughter, one son, and one dog. I am looking forward to a great year at Twillman!
Hi! My name is Mrs. Mandy Heering. I received a Master's in teaching from Lindenwood University in May 2018. This will be my second year at Twillman Elementary. I taught first grade last year and will be looping this year to second grade. I believe parents and teachers are a team. Therefore, I have an open door policy and encourage all parents to call, message me on Class Dojo, or email me anytime. I pour my heart and soul into my classroom and work my hardest to help every student in my class reach their fullest potential. I love getting to know every one of my students and enjoy being a class family. When I am not in the classroom, I spend my time with my husband, who is also a teacher. I enjoy being outside, reading, hiking, spending time with friends and family. One of my favorite activities to do with my family is game night. I am excited to make it the best year yet!
My name is Sharene Brown I've been teaching 15 years here at Twillman Elementary.
My hobbies include biking, kayaking, hiking, and vacationing!
I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. I have been an educator for 15 years. I enjoy fishing and vacationing with my family. Educating our youth is a major part of my life and I believe that this my purpose in life.
My name is Tiffianay Penson. I obtained my undergrad degree from Harris Stowe State University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I received my masters degrees from Webster University in Reading and Communication Arts with an emphasis in Reading. I am the mother of 5 children and 5 grandchildren. I have been in education for 25 years. I previously worked in St. Louis Public Schools and Riverview Gardens School District. I enjoy music, search and find puzzles, reading science fiction novels, and watching T.V.
I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Special Education and English from Greenville University. I am married to a wonderful husband for 13 years and have 3 beautiful daughters who are 12 and twins that are 4. I grew up in St. Peters but currently live in Illinois. My favorite things to do is be outside, read, and be with family and friends.
Hello, my name is Alex Ormsby. I grew up in the North County area, attending Ferguson-Florissant schools, and graduated from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I have recently returned to Webster to earn a Masters Degree in Reading Specialty. This is my fifth year of teaching, and I am happy to be educating and serving part of the community I grew up in. Personally speaking, I am a HUGE Cardinals and Blues fan (I am so happy we finally won the Stanley Cup!) and enjoy swimming, running, creating artwork, hanging out with family/friends, and going to the Fox/Muny. Finally, I absolutely LOVE reading (which is evident in my classroom and my teaching practices) and am passionate about helping students develop a love of reading as well.
My name is Cheris Whitney and I am thrilled to be a Twillman Tiger. I will be teaching fourth grade
students. I am a Justice League fan and like all great educators, I too, possess the following

My name is Ciara Jones and I am excited to have joined the Twillman family! Before Twillman, I taught reading and mathematics at Grannemann elementary. I hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a masters in elementary mathematics. I look forward to a thrilling year of learning. My goal is to build a community that is safe, structured, and maintains high expectations for all students.
Greetings Twillman Family! My name is Laurie Martin and this will be my eleventh year in education. This will be my sixth year in 5th grade! I live in the Hazelwood School District, I am an alumni of Hazelwood Central and I have a six year old son who will be starting first grade this year. I love to read, watch and play games with my son and our brand new puppy, MJ. In December of 2017, I earned my Masters in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction. I love researching and learning new and effective ways to teach children so I will probably end up back in school at some point in the future. I look forward to a wonderful year at Twillman where I will have the honor of watching your children grow in both learning and life!
I am in my 13 year teaching Physical Education at Twillman. I was born and raised on a small Caribbean island called Anguilla. I have 4 children, 3 boys and daddy's princess. My hobbies are hanging with my family and lifting weights.
My name is Dana Fredwell I have been a teacher at Twillan Ellementary for 7 years. This is my first year as the school librarian and I love it becasue I get to see ALL of the kids!
Other than music, I enjoy teaching Zumba Fitness, I love superhero movies and comics, and am fascinated with technology.
My name is Krystal Giles. I have been a counselor in the Hazelwood School District for 13 years. I obtained my bachelors from Tennessee State University and my masters from Lindenwood University in School and Professional Counseling. I am a registered play therapist. When I am not at Twillman, I love to spend time with my husband and two boys.
My name is Erica Larsen and this is my 12th year in education. I have taught grades 3, 4, & 5. I am looking forward to helping teachers grow this year in my new role as Instructional Coach. When I'm not in in the classroom, I spend my time working out, being crafty, watching sports, or hanging out with my boyfriend and three dogs!
Hi Twillman families! I'm so excited to be a part of Twillman Elementary! I've spent the last 14 years as a classroom teacher in grades 3-6 and this year I'll be working with teachers as an Instructional Guide. My passion is children's literature and I'm deeply dedicated to equity in classrooms and schools. I received my Master's in Reading from Webster University and completed my undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While I'm originally from Southern Illinois, I have lived in both Miami and St. Louis city since college. I am devoted to constantly learning and can't wait to see all that I learn from the amazing families, children, teachers, and administrators at Twillman this year!

I have taught for 17 years in Illinois and 1 year in MO. I received my Bachelor’s degree at Illinois State University and a Master’s degree from National Louis University. I am married and have an 8 year old son. My hobbies include reading, listening to music, camping and spending time with my family.
I am looking forward to joining the Twillman family! I moved to MIssouri from New Hampshire a little over a year ago with my 3 dogs to be closer to my daughter and son-in-law. I have been working in the field of Special Education for many years and am excited to continue my second year with Special School District.
Hi! My name is Lauren Mueller and I am starting my third year at Twillman as the Speech-Language Pathologist serving our students in Grades 3-5 primarily! I received my Bachelor of Arts & Master’s Degree from Saint Louis University (Go Bills!) and am from St. Louis, MO. I love working with children toward their speech and language goals! In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends, taking my Golden Retrievers on walks, watching Cardinals games, and reading books!
My name is Angela Griffith and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Twillman! This is my seventeenth year as a school SLP! I love helping children increase their communication skills! I am married and have twin boys who are in elementary school. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, read, and walk.
