Hi! My name is Ms. Chambers and I feel honored to be apart of the Larimore Elementary school, serving as a first-grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year! Parents, I encourage you to be as involved as you would like in our classroom. I look forward to working together as we empower and inspire your student. This class blog will serve as an avenue for me to share the learning journey that your child will experience throughout the year. I am excited to make this the best year yet!

    Dear Larimore Parents/Guardians;

    I am sure the events we are finding our country in is a bit uncomfortable and unsettling. School closings may cause you to wonder how your child will continue to learn. I just want to give you updates to alleviate some of the stress and anxiety you may feel about your child’s learning and assure you that I am available to help us work through this.

    Daily activities and Chromebooks were sent home on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Do not worry if your child did not receive a packet or has not completed the packet(s) sent home. If you did not receive the packet  for your child, please reach out via Class Dojo or email and I/we can get you a list of activities to do until new assignments are distributed. An email from Larimore’s administration will be sent by the end of this week regarding how, when and where to pick up additional resources; workbooks and chromebooks (grades 3-5 only)  will serve as our new online platform until further notice. It is very important to make plans to pick items up during the specific time and day assigned to you in the email.

    Teachers are meeting this week to get  training on our new online program over the next two weeks. We will be mapping out lessons for the weeks going forward and will get that information to you as soon as possible. Lessons via the new online platform will begin the week of April 20th.

    I will be available through email (zchambers@hazelwoodschools.org) and Class Dojo. My office hours are 9am-12pm if you have any questions or concerns. I will do my best to answer any questions or concerns you may have. If I do not know the answer, I will make sure I put you in touch with someone that can and will help.

    Thank you and be safe,

    Ms. Chambers
