Mrs. Kesler, teacher & poet

I teach College Prep English, Reading Writing Workshop, Reading Skills, and English 1 here at Hazelwood West High School. I have been in the district for 21 years. I think West is the place I was truly meant to be. I started out as an elementary teacher at Lusher and Lawson. I then moved to Northwest Middle, where I taught 6th and 8th grade Communication Arts. My journey in the Hazelwood School District has been a rewarding one. I have been fortunate to have built many new friendships with families and relationships with incredible students over the years. My adventure at West is one that has been amazing. I have so many students that I already know from previously teaching younger grades, that it makes coming to work each day a blessing. In my free time I spend time with my family and friends, attend sporting events, walk creeks and parks with my husband and kids, go on float trips, go antiquing, piddle in the garden, and write poetry. I am a mother of 5...3 kids and 2 step-kids! I also enjoy freelance writing and music trivia.
