Purpose of the Committee:
The objective of the committee is to research and develop an elementary and middle school thematic school for the 2018-2019 school year. The rationale for a thematic school is to provide opportunities for our students to learn in a school focused on a theme and retain students in the Hazelwood School District.  

Expectations for the Committee Members:
The members are divided into sub-committees based on their interests. The elementary sub-committees are STEM, Fine Arts/Practical Arts, and Language Immersion. The middle school sub-committees are STEM, Fine Arts/Practical Arts, and Gifted/International Baccalaureate. Each committee will research their specific theme and identify the strengths and weaknesses of their theme, programmatic options including curriculum to consider, a list of budget considerations and a timeline to phase in thematic schools.
