Innovators in Action: West High Students Join 2025 TSA Conference

Four West High Technology Student Association (TSA) students, Jaxon Paulette, Harmony Winston, Aleyah Brown, and Boston Hammond, attended the annual National TSA Conference in “Music City, USA” — Nashville, Tennessee — during the last weekend of June. The location could not be more fitting for this year’s theme, “Tune in to Technology”!

The National TSA Conference, a highlight for many TSA members, serves as a comprehensive event that fosters personal growth, leadership development, and opportunities in technology, innovation, design, and engineering through competitive events, challenging activities, and networking opportunities with peers and industry professionals. It allows students to showcase their skills and knowledge, earn recognition, participate in leadership training, and connect with others from across the country.

Students had an opportunity to partake in meetings that included over 10,000 students from all over the United States. Schools from American Samoa and Germany were in attendance. The students had their annual, national business meeting. Members heard from the national candidates before the votes were cast for next year‘s national officers. The students also participated in a state pin trading activity, a tradition at the yearly national conference.

During the exciting events, freshmen Jaxon Paulette and Harmony Winston dove headfirst into the thrilling board game competition. Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Harmony and senior Boston Hammond showcased their creativity in the captivating Structural Design challenge. Sophomore Aleyah Brown and Jaxon represented West High with flair in the adrenaline-pumping Technology Problem-Solving event. Not to be outdone, Aleyah, Harmony, and Boston faced off in the fast-paced Technology Bowl tests, bringing their A-game and exciting energy to every moment!

Aleyah qualified to submit her photos and portfolio for the Photographic Technology event at Nationals by finishing 2nd at the Missouri state level. Meanwhile, Boston and Jaxon advanced to the Nationals with Boston's fashion design, which also qualified at the state level.

What an exhilarating and rewarding lineup of activities for West High students at this year's annual TSA National Conference!
