HSD Summer Reading Challenge Heats Up

Summer is heating up, and so is the #HSDReads Summer Challenge.
Hazelwood School District has logged 75,631 reading minutes so far this summer, as of July 1. While students throughout the district are prioritizing reading this summer, four schools are leading the way with the most minutes logged:
- Lawson – 17,530 minutes
- Lusher – 12,560 minutes
- Garrett – 7,515 minutes
- McCurdy – 6,131 minutes
The summer reading challenge aims to keep our students learning by encouraging them to read at least 30 minutes each day to win prizes at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The District has a goal of reading 500,000 minutes this summer, with the challenge coming to a close on August 3.
It’s not too late to enroll in the challenge and start logging minutes spent reading this summer. To participate to win prizes and help get your school on the leaderboard, follow the instructions on the graphic below.
