Cold Water Elementary Courtyard Gets a Fresh New Look

Cold Water Elementary students and staff have a beautiful new space to enjoy, thanks to a community partnership that brought new life to the school’s courtyard.
Russell Construction Company recently donated its time, expertise and hard work to reconstruct the courtyard, completing the project in just two days. Several partner companies also contributed supplies to help bring the project to life.

The newly renovated space provides a welcoming area for students and staff—and a new home for Cold Water’s collection of turtles, which come in a variety of sizes and have become a special part of the school community. The courtyard may also become home to a future school garden.

One of the most meaningful touches is the collection of rocks lining the courtyard. The rocks were painted by Cold Water students over the past 10 years and were carefully salvaged and incorporated into the new space, creating a colorful connection to the school’s history.
“We are excited to have a space that our students can enjoy while also preserving pieces of Cold Water’s history,” said Cold Water Principal Nicholas Traughber. “We’re incredibly grateful to Russell Construction and its partners for helping make this vision a reality.”

The revitalized courtyard is a wonderful example of what can happen when a school and its community come together to create something special for students
