Welcome from Dr. Chauncey E. Granger

Assistant Superintendent of High Schools

Greetings, Hazelwood School District families and community!

My name is Dr. Chauncey E. Granger, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of High Schools. My goal is to support our students, families, and schools by ensuring they have access to the resources, opportunities, and guidance necessary for every student to have a successful and meaningful educational experience.

Strong schools are built through strong partnerships. I am committed to working collaboratively with students, families, staff, and school leaders to strengthen communication, address concerns, and connect families with the appropriate personnel and resources. I believe timely feedback, meaningful follow-up, and open communication are essential to building trust and helping our students succeed.

Areas of Responsibility

• High School Leadership and Supervision – Provide leadership, support, and oversight for Hazelwood Central High School, Hazelwood East High School, and Hazelwood West High School.

• Opportunity Center – Provide leadership and oversight for the district's Opportunity Center and its programs supporting students.
• Academic Achievement and School Improvement – Work collaboratively with school leaders to strengthen instruction, improve student achievement, support effective school improvement practices, and create positive learning environments.
• Family and Student Support – Connect students and families with school and district resources and appropriate personnel to ensure concerns receive timely feedback, follow-up, and resolution.
• K–12 Athletics and Activities – Provide district-level leadership and oversight for athletic and activity programs, supporting opportunities for students to participate, compete, lead, and grow beyond the classroom.
• Safety and Security – Oversee district safety and security operations and work with district and school leaders to maintain safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environments.

I look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue working together to provide every student with the opportunities and support needed to learn, grow, and succeed.
