Dr. Perano began her career in the Hazelwood School District as a teacher aide. Over the next two decades, she dedicated herself to education, serving as both a classroom teacher and an instructional coach.
She then transitioned into school leadership, serving as an assistant principal and most recently as an elementary school principal, bringing valuable experience and insight to each role.
Dr. Perano earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (Grades 1–8) from Missouri State University, with emphases in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K–3), Language Arts, and Social Studies (Grades 4–8). She later obtained a master’s degree in administration from Lindenwood University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.
As Director of Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum, Dr. Perano will lead efforts to strengthen instructional practices, support curriculum development, and ensure that all students have access to high-quality, equitable learning experiences. Her passion for education and commitment to student success will continue to guide her work in this new role.
