Teacher Message:

My philosophy is that all children can be successful. Success is also not the same for all. Success is achieving what one is capable of achieving and meeting or exceeding that goal.

As your child's teacher, I will work hard to help them achieve success at almost any cost. I will create lessons that are tailored to all of the children's learning styles. I will be there for them to celebrate their successes and I will be there to help them through a personal problem, with school work, or anything I can do as a professional to help them achieve their goals. I became a teacher because I love helping kids learn and grow and that is what I will do with your student.

Biography:

My name is Pete Scuzzo, I currently teach 6th grade Science and have been with the Hazelwood district for ten years. I received my calling to teach after a 20 year sales career. After my son was born and as he grew I became the head coach of his baseball team. It is through coaching young kids that I learned how much I loved to help children grow and succeed. I recently came over to Southeast Middle after 8 years at Grannemann Elementary and this will be my second year at SEMS.

I am married to my beautiful wife Victoria for 22 years and to her 4 wonderful children. After we married we added 2 more to the mix. I must also include our cat Zippy who is about 6 years old because if I don't she will somehow know and take it out on me when I sleep.

My hobbies include riding my motorcycle and playing guitar. I have a very deep love for listening to and playing the blues. In my opinion it is an incredible way to express feelings through improvisation. St. Louis is a great place for the blues. On most any night you can find an outlet with the blues pouring out of the windows and doors. After all, this is the home of Chuck Berry and many other famous musicians
